FraudMeNot shares real scam stories and simple warnings. We want to help you protect yourself, your family, and your business.

Who we are

We're the FraudMeNot Team, a small, independent team. We study fraud cases from public sources. Then we turn them into short stories with simple habits that can help. We use our team name, not our own names, so the focus stays on the lessons.

Our goal

Look what happened to them, so it doesn't happen to you. We want you to spot a scam at the moment it can still be stopped.

How we work

• Every story has a label. Real, reported means it comes from public sources, with links; some details may be dramatized. Real, reported: nothing added or dramatized means we tell it only as the public records say. Composite/dramatized means it mixes common cases, and the names, places, and numbers are made up. Hypothetical means a "what if" scam that could happen next.
• We use real sources, like the FBI, the IRS, the FTC, and the U.S. health department (HHS). We only say what they say. People who haven't been convicted are presumed innocent.
• We never share working scam links, phone numbers, or emails. If we must show one, we break it on purpose so it can't be clicked (for example example[.]com).
• About AI: our videos use an AI voice. A person researches and checks every script. Some pictures may be made with AI or come from stock photo sites.
